eBIO is the Bioinformatics platform of Paris-Sud University and one of the eight nodes of the Aplibio regional bioinformatics center of Ile de France.
The platform has a site located at IGM (Institut de Génétique et Microbiologie, Orsay campus) and a site located at Integrated Research Cancer Institute, Villejuif campus. Other contributing laboratories are LRI (Laboratoire de Recherche en Informatique), INRA Ferme du Moulon, CGM (Centre de Génétique Moléculaire) and the Paul Brousse Hospital.
Our mission involves providing access to a range of databases and bioinformatics tools developed in laboratories of the Paris-Sud University campuses. These ressources include bacterial and plant genome analysis databases and software for a variety of RNA structure/function and molecular phylogeny analyzes.
We also provide support for the analysis of high throughput Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data. We are involved in NGS projects from the stage of experimental design to the stage of data processing and biological interpretation. We develop pipelines and interfaces to facilitate biologists’ access to NGS computing.
NGS Know-how:
Genome resequencing and variant detection (Single Nucleotide Polymorphism, indels, etc…).
De novo genome assembly
Small RNA-Seq, mRNA-seq
Ribosome profiling
Noncoding RNA, splice variant detection from RNA-seq
Differential gene expression
